Pearlyn's introduction. :D

HELLO! :D

Apparently, I don't have a sense of humour as good as Charmaine's.

So yeah, I'll make my self-introduction very simple.

About Myself:

My name is Pearlyn! You can call me Pearl, or lyn, or Pearl-jie, or whatever you feel that i'd respond to. I'm thirteen this year (2006!), has long black hair, black pupils, is 167cm in height and has a disgusting habit of biting her nails. I'm very conscious about what I wear, how I look, and what people think about me.

Music Is My Life:

Definitely, i've been surrounded by music since i was 3! It's part of my life already. I play the piano, guitar and drums. I'm into punk rock music. But R&B tunes with good beats or other-genre songs with good vocals attract me. I'm in the choir, so i love to sing. But i'm not very good at it cause i'm not blessed with a stunning voice. Dancing lets me set my emotions free and writting songs let me express the captivated feelings.

Other things about me that you should know:

1. I have a huge ego.
2. I hate people touching my hair.
3. I don't enjoy chewing on sugary items such as candy.
4. I'm an extrovert.
5. I love interacting with people, making friends, and making them smile/laugh.
6. I'm a very sensitive person.
7. I'm a very messy person, i hardly clean my room up.
8. I love music.
9. I always have the urge to spend, resulting to my indulgence in retail therapy.
10. I always wanna let others see the best side of me, hence being very competitive.

Photography/design experience:

I was in my school's media club in primary school and one of my duties were to capture special moments during school events! I've attended a photography/film workshop, or two, and is a total cam-whore. I've been making blogskins for more than a year already, and my main tool is Photoshop(I mean, whose isn't?!).


Cam-lipy is like a past time to me. I bring my camera everywhere i go, so i often like to take shots of sights/people/objects/happenings. I want the audience to see what I see through a camera lens. I'm not very good at this thing, so please try not to be so harsh with the comments. Besides, all i need is a lil more encouragement and motivation to improve, isn't it?

Okay, hi Shermaine!
Sorry, it's Charmaine, not Shermaine. (: Alot of people mistake the spelling of my name to be Shermaine and that's like so irritating! >: /

Uhm.. Sorry then. Okay, tell us more about you.
Hm, I think.. I'm pretty much of a introvert-extrovert in between. Yep, and although I like most music genres, my favourite genres would still be country and pop. I like playing the guitar too (:

I'm 13. Going on 14 on 24th September 2007. (Remember to give me tokens of appreciation on my birthday! :D)

Origin and introduction of Cam-lipy.com


Cam-lipy.com originates from two Secondary students - Pearlyn and Charmaine(Yay that's me! :D), inspired by a photography blog. As we're interested in photography and design, this blog is specially meant for the purpose.

Cam-lipy.com consists of different types of photography - Scenic, abstract, and more.

All of us have different points of views, and at the end of the day, it's you who decide what our photos mean. Enjoy lovelies! (:

"Cam-lipy": Oooo, what does that mean?

As usual, we were racking our brains for a funky term to use for our url. Being stereotype 13-year-olds, we wanted something that would attract other people's attention!

Honestly, neither of us were very good at coming up with witty names in the first place.

We tried putting together excerpts from our names, but it just didn't sound right. And so, after much frustration, I did the cancelling of identical alphabets in both our names "Pearlyn" and "Charmaine" and got these:

C M A I P L Y

At first, we came up with funny combinations such as "amplicy" and "plamicy", which sounded like nothing in this world.

Then Charmaine came up with "Cam-Lipy"!

Charmaine liked the fact that the word "cam" was in there. Cause we do work with a camera most of the time in order to produce work for this site isn't it?

I thought the word "lipy" was cute. Reminded me of luscious lips that looked simply glamourous!

But really, the definition of our name or any piece of art that we produce is up to you to define and interprete.

Besides, isn't art all about being creative and inventive?
